An Engineer's Tale

is SO  Interesting

Rough  Tales from the  Sites  as told by the Construction Men and Navvies who lived, worked, and sometimes died, in civil engineering Told by someone who was there and listened.

Cautionary Notice

Any relationship to or possible identification of any person (living or dead) is purely coincidental and is completely deniable.

All the characters are a combination of faulty memory, imagination and more than one or two or four.

So it is not you.

It is the bloke in another place, and at another time.

Most of the events are actually “true” in the same way that 'I read it in the paper so it must be right'.

This has all been done, not only, to protect the guilty from retribution but, incidentally, me too.

I worked for forty years in civil engineering and

'public works' contracting (as it used to be properly called).

I learned a little about Heavy civil engineering

and a lot more about the people in it.

'And Now I is One'

is about

the men and women who did it

and then did it all again only better

and sometimes not so well.

Some were  rogues, thieves, 'chancers' but mostly they just worked to make a living for themselves and their family.

You  decide

who is who and which is which
